At 7:00 am, we gather in the San Blas neighborhood and board a bus heading north of Quito. Our journey takes approximately 30 minutes until we reach Calderón. This quaint town is our first stop, where we will spend 45 minutes exploring the renowned Marzipan crafts.

Continuing on our route, we pause at a scenic viewpoint to admire the stunning Imbabura volcano, which stands at 4,610 meters, and enjoy the view of San Pablo Lake.

As we proceed towards Otavalo, we'll pause at the bustling animal fair, held every Saturday. A brief 5-minute walk will lead us to the renowned "Otavalo Market" or "Plaza de los Ponchos," where we immerse ourselves in the vibrant local culture. This market showcases ancient customs and traditions, with locals donning traditional indigenous attire. Here, you can purchase colorful costumes, ponchos, blankets, and handcrafted items.

Around 1:00 pm, enjoy some free time for lunch at a nearby restaurant, savoring delicious local dishes. Our journey then takes us to Cotacachi, famous for its exquisite leather goods.
