The adventure of rafting on the Quijos River kicks off at 6:30 am at Magic Bean (located at the corner of Foch and Juan León Mera). From Quito, we embark on a journey approximately 130 km eastward to the town of Baeza.
Upon reaching our destination, participants will receive a comprehensive safety briefing, learn basic paddling techniques, undergo a swimming test, and engage in team-building exercises. Essential gear such as life jackets, helmets, and wetsuits (if needed) will be provided.
Once prepared, we dive right into the thrilling action, starting with some milder rapids to ease into the experience. As we navigate the river, you'll be captivated by the stunning jungle landscapes and enjoy a delightful picnic along the riverbanks.
In the afternoon, we'll tackle the initial canyons of the Quijos, confronting larger and more technical rapids that offer an exhilarating and challenging experience, sure to leave you breathless.
We conclude this exhilarating day by celebrating with a few ice-cold beers by the river before heading back to Quito, with an estimated return time of 7:30 pm.
